Fuel transfer is a high-risk window where focus is everything. But when your operators are exposed to harsh sun, UV, or driving rain, there’s only so long they can hold position until they have to step away and leave the hose unattended to find relief.
We’ve seen what happens when focus breaks:
Preventable incidents often start with unnoticed heat stroke. Protecting your drivers while they are stationary is the first step in ensuring they stay safe once they get behind the wheel.
Expedition Systems developed the shade system to solve the “shade vs. safety” conflict. It is a bolt-on system that gives your operators a 2.5m² safety zone right at the point of transfer.
How it helps the team
Safety Beyond the Equipment Fatigue and heat stress aren’t always visible, but the risks are real. A shade system provides a simple, effective layer of protection – reducing heat exposure and helping ensure every journey starts in a safer state of mind.
Expedition Systems designed this to be a “set and forget” part of your fleet.
Who uses the Bunker Shade?
Expedition Systems first developed the unit for major fuel distributors in Australia, and it is currently being rolled out to major fleets.
Does it add width to the truck?
No. It stays within the 2.5m constraint and mounts directly to the existing hose tray.
Is it hard to maintain?
The system is built from aluminium and stainless steel. All components are replaceable if they get damaged on the job.
How fast is the setup?
One driver can have the shade ready in under a minute.
Expedition Systems is rolling this out to a limited number of operators. Contact us to book a demo or a trial installation for your fleet.
